Every project begins with a conversation. During our initial meeting, we take the time to understand your goals, ideas, and how you use your property. Whether you’re planning a large outdoor living space or improving an existing area, we look at your entire property to ensure the solution fits naturally and functions well long-term. This step helps us align your vision with realistic, lasting results.

Assess

During this step, we document your property in detail. We take measurements, note existing features, assess grading and drainage, and identify any challenges or opportunities. This allows us to design and build with accuracy, avoid surprises, and ensure the finished project works seamlessly with your home and landscape.

Design

Once we understand your property and goals, we move into the design phase. Depending on the scale of the project, a design retainer may be required. This retainer secures your custom design and is applied toward your project if we complete the work. Our designs are guided by five core principles—harmony, balance, hierarchy, scale, and contrast—to create a cohesive, thoughtful layout that complements your home. If you decide not to move forward with installation, you still receive a professional design that can be implemented by you or another contractor.

Install

With the plan and design approved, our team gets to work. We handle material coordination, scheduling, and construction so the process stays efficient and organized. Your project is completed by experienced professionals, including horticulturists, stone masons, and field specialists, ensuring quality craftsmanship at every stage. We treat your property with care and keep you informed throughout the installation process.

Maintain

Our relationship doesn’t have to end when installation is complete. Owner Luke Cauffman and the Branching Out team offer ongoing maintenance, updates, and redesign support to keep your landscape looking its best. Whether it’s caring for existing plants, refreshing older designs, or planning future improvements, we provide knowledgeable, dependable service to protect your investment and help your landscape continue to thrive.
